Job Description: Data Analyst Consultant:

A data analyst will be responsible for interpreting data, analyzing results, and generating actionable insights to guide decision-making within the organization. They will work with large datasets, employing statistical tools, visualization software, and database querying to identify trends, solve problems, and support business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop Power BI dashboards and visual reports based on business needs

Build robust data models using Power BI Desktop and DAX

Use Power Query (M) to transform data from multiple sources

Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and publish reports to Power BI Service

Optimize dashboards for performance and usability

Schedule and manage dataset refreshes, gateway configurations, and report delivery

Perform ad hoc data analysis using advanced Excel tools (Power Pivot, PivotTables, Formulas)

Integrate Excel models with Power BI and other data sources

Provide reporting, forecasting, and KPI tracking using Excel dashboards

Enable teams with self-service analytics and standardized templates

Extract, transform, and load data from EDW platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse, SQL Server, Snowflake)

Design and validate dimensional models (star/snowflake schemas)

Work with data architects and engineers to align EDW data with reporting needs

Maintain data consistency, integrity, and governance across systems

Develop and manage Power Automate flows for data refresh notifications, report sharing, and automation tasks

Integrate Power BI alerts and outputs with workflow automation

Skills and Qualifications:

Strong experience with Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and the Power BI Service

Proficient in Excel for advanced data analysis and modeling

Hands-on experience working with Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW) and relational databases

Working knowledge of Power Automate for automating reporting tasks

Strong SQL skills and familiarity with data engineering pipelines

Understanding of data governance, security, and RLS best practices

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with Azure Data Services, Power Platform, or other BI tools

Domain knowledge in Healthcare / Finance / is a plus

Advanced knowledge of medical claims, pharmacy, eligibility, provider, and clinical data preferably in a in a managed care, Medicaid, Medicare, or health plan setting.
