Job Title: Manual Machinist (Lathe)
Job Description
We are a small, locally owned job shop in Trinity, AL, seeking a skilled Manual Machinist with strong experience operating manual lathes. This is a hands-on role focused on producing custom parts for a variety of industries. While the primary responsibility is manual machining, there may be occasional work on a CNC grinder.
Responsibilities
Operate and maintain manual lathes to produce precision parts.
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Set up machines, select tooling, and make necessary adjustments.
Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Collaborate with a small team to meet production goals.Essential Skills
Proven experience operating manual lathes in a job shop or similar environment.
Strong understanding of machining principles and techniques.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Proficient in using precision measuring instruments.
Reliable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Work Environment
This role is situated in a clean, climate-controlled environment, working with a small, collaborative team. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, with occasional Saturday hours as needed.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Trinity, Alabama.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
