The Assistant Quantity Surveyor supports the project team in managing all aspects of cost planning, estimation, and contract administration. This role involves assisting with the preparation of bills of quantities, monitoring project budgets, and ensuring financial efficiency throughout the construction lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents.
Support in the preparation and evaluation of bills of quantities (BOQ) and schedules of work.
Conduct site visits to measure and record work progress.
Help monitor project costs and keep records of variations and changes.
Assist with procurement, including obtaining and evaluating subcontractor quotations.
Prepare interim payment applications and final accounts under supervision.
Support in managing contract documentation and correspondence.
Work with senior surveyors and project teams to ensure accurate cost control.
Ensure compliance with contract terms, legal requirements, and safety standards.
Contribute to value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
02 years of experience in quantity surveying or cost control.
Basic understanding of construction processes and cost management.
Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Candy).
Strong numerical, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
Working Conditions:
Office-based with frequent site visits.
May require occasional travel depending on project location.
Ability to work extended hours as required by project deadlines.
