Desired Education
Master's degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field OR equivalent professional or military experience.
Desired Experience
10 + of professional and technical experience as a Data Architect, Data Engineer, or related role developing data models and architectural solutions at the enterprise level.
Ten or more years of experience designing, developing, and implementing business applications from business concept through to production.
Ten or more years of experience designing and implementing large-scale solutions that empower business data and enterprise information and data solutions
Data Scientist with Expert level knowledge of developing and using data standards comprising common formats, representation, definition, structuring, manipulation, tagging, transmission, use, and management of data.
Ten or more years of experience working with data programming languages (Python, Java, SQL, etc.) and data orchestration and integration pipelines.
Ten or more years of experience with cloud computing platforms similar to Amazon Web Services, Azure or equivalent.
Data Scientist with Demonstrated math and analytical skills.
Data Scientist with strong consulting and communication skills.
Ten or more years of experience with software development lifecycle including Agile and traditional project management and delivery methodologies.
Data Scientist with Ability to define, maintain, and manage architecture models and artifacts (e.g. current and future state application architecture diagrams, data models, etc.).
Data Scientist with Knowledge of DoD, Intelligence Community (IC), and interagency organizations and their functional relationships, programs, and policies.
Data Scientist with Specific experience leading groups, negotiating compromises, and influencing key leaders, customers and stakeholders involving problems or public policy issues that have great sensitivity, including national or international consequence.

Responsibilities:
SANCORP is seeking a Data Scientist to support the Air Force Research Laboratory through the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO). The following are examples of responsibilities:
Design and implement AI/ML models tailored to defense use cases, ensuring alignment with mission objectives and operational constraints
Lead development and refinement of data pipelines to support end-to-end model training, validation, and deployment in secure environments
Conduct deep data analysis, applying machine learning, statistical inference, and simulation to derive insights from complex, multi-source datasets
Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with adversarial AI, including vulnerability testing, bias detection, and model hardening strategies
Collaborate with cybersecurity and DevSecOps teams to embed security measures across the AI development lifecycle, enabling secure and resilient model deployment
Support Authority to Operate (ATO) efforts by documenting AI models and data workflows in accordance with DoD and CDAO compliance standards
Contribute to cyber analytics, modeling patterns in threat detection, anomaly classification, and decision support tools for cyber operators
Assist in developing AI Ops pipelines, ensuring continuous integration, delivery, and monitoring of AI models under mission-driven conditions
Translate operational requirements into mathematical models, simulations, or predictive systems supporting national defense scenarios
Participate in the testing and evaluation (DT&E/OT&E) of models and algorithms, validating performance and mission suitability under realistic conditions
Communicate complex analytical findings through visualizations, briefings, and technical documentation for stakeholders and senior leadership
Lead or contribute to multidisciplinary teams, integrating data science with software engineering, cybersecurity, and domain-specific experts to build deployable capabilities
