Valero is looking for a Sr. Data Security Specialist to join the IS Infrastructure team at the Valero Headquarters in San Antonio, TX. The Sr. Data Security Specialist is assist in the design, implementation and maintenance of appropriate data security for a wide variety of applications. The primary focus of this position is to design, implement, monitor, and maintain access control for SAP systems and applications including AD related systems. Responsibilities may include:
Plans, coordinates, tests researches, and implements security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure.
Works closely with team members, end users and other IS departments to meet the company's goals and ensure the protection, confidentiality and integrity of the overall information architecture for the organization.
Maintains and validates that the SAP environment and other Active Directory related applications meet with both security and audit requirements.
Participates and contributes to various security projects in SAP and other Active Directory related systems.
Helps develop, communicates, and implements data and computer security policies and procedures.
Creates SAP, Active Directory and other application system related roles in Identity Management tool . Tests and ensures that Identify management tool processes are not impacted after upgrades,
Researches, develops and maintains highly secure processes that automate security related tasks.
Reviews, recommends and implements I/S security process changes for SOX compliance.
Collaborates on critical IT projects to ensure that security issues are addressed throughout the project life cycle.
Ensures security KPIs are within acceptable level by monitoring and addressing the potential issues. Generate security reports and update managment as required.
Identifies and resolves security threats to company applications.
Participates in periodic compliance reviews and security assessments.Works with auditors, legal representatives for investigating possible security violations
Continuously monitors the status and effectiveness of security controls.
Provides Microsoft Active Directory (AD) and Identity Lifecycle Management (ILM) support for a large, multi-domain, dispersed corporate environment (1,000+ servers, multiple time zones, 20,000+ users, 10,000+ computers).
Provides domain controller hardware and software support and monitoring, AD security delegation, replication, troubleshooting, disaster recovery, domain migrations, DNS, DHCP, and WINS support.
Provides on-call support in the areas of Windows server support and management, server patch management, and support for third party add-ins from vendors such as Quest, Specops, and Centrify.
May be required to work off-hours and on weekends for projects and/or support.
Some travel may be required.
This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Bachelor's degree (or higher) or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field preferred.
8 years of relevant information services experience in direct computing support activities including thorough knowledge of equipment, application, software, networking, and operating system software required.
Work experience in Active Directory, Active Directory domain migrations, Active Directory 2003 experience required.
Experience with Security Design and Implementation in SAP R/3, BW,HR, XI, CRM, HANA and upgrades required.
Experience administering Active Directory, including design, configuration, and support required.
Experience supporting Windows Domain Controllers and server operating systems, including 2003 and 2008 R2, and related hardware required.
Ability to be on-call 24/7 to support the department, as needed.
Able and willing to travel for projects, as needed.
Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required.
Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
