BAE Systems, a provider of some of the world's most advanced, technology-led defense, aerospace, and security systems is seeking a highly motivated and highly experienced individual to support THAAD seeker production and development.

This engineering leader will provide on call support to the Program Engineering Manager (PEM) and Chief Engineer on the THAAD seeker program on all technical activities and challenges. The candidate must have a strong understanding of the THAAD seeker, its mission and requirements, and be familiar with Department of Defense (DoD) requirements and acquisition processes. She/he should have experience with all aspects of the engineering lifecycle and have the ability to mentor and share those experiences with more junior engineers. This individual must have the ability to work independently to resolve technical challenges.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Coordinates and manages engineering activities that are delegated from the program engineering leads.

Mentors junior engineers on the details of the THAAD Seeker and engages in a regular knowledge transfer.

Interfaces with cognizant program management, project engineering managers, design teams and functional engineering organizations to obtain agreement and closure of engineering tasks.

Interfaces with suppliers and internal engineering team in supporting the coordination and verification of second sour suppliers.

Supports program Failure Review Board investigations and delegated tasks.

Typical Education and Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

Bachelor's degree in related engineering field.

15+ years’ in engineering or related field

Experience with THAAD program

Experience leading an engineering team in project performance, technical problem solving, performing trade studies.

Have a sound understanding of engineering principles.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Excellent technical writing skills

Ability to obtain a secret clearance

Preferred Skills and Education

Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to diagnose, resolve complex problems and to develop improved methods to increase program efficiency.

Experience with customer/stakeholder communication, management, relationship building, and customer satisfaction

Experience communicating with foreign military customers/stakeholders.
