The Mission
As our next Cyber Security Specialist at Langley AFB, VA (363d Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance Wing), you’ll ensure the availability, integrity, and resilience of the Department of Defense Information Network (DODIN) and the Air Force Information Network (AFIN). You’ll be on the front lines of a relentless cyber battlefield—mapping complex dependencies, uncovering vulnerabilities, and delivering actionable insights that keep our warfighters one step ahead.
What You’ll Do
Evaluate the Wing’s cyberspace posture and turn raw data into strategic investment decisions
Identify resource gaps and quantify mission risk across multi-domain networks
Map data flows, system relationships, and interdependencies across NIPR, SIPR, and JWICS enclaves
Apply systems, business analysis, and Functional Missional Analysis for Cyber (FMA-C) methodologies
Lead periodic compliance reviews, ensuring policies and procedures are airtight
Engineer and analyze secure architectures: from R&D and security accreditation to integration, training, and sustainment
Shape Unit tactics, techniques, and procedures that drive combat-ready operations
Gather, analyze, and report on DODIN & AFIN health—fueling continuous improvement
Perform advanced business, engineering, and security functions across C2E and GovCloud services
Investigate past incidents, recommend fresh approaches, and refine reporting systems
Design clear courses of action for leadership to evolve AF infrastructure and enable seamless data sharing
Serve as the go-to expert on all things DODIN for customer leadership and staff
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years of related experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience with Cyber-analysis or system-admin experience—at least some within the last two years
Active TS/SCI clearance (polygraph a plus)
Proven ability to operate on NIPR, SIPR, and JWICS domains within the IC
Hands-on mastery of IP networking, VPNs, DNS, firewalls, IAM/authentication, and load balancing
Track record presenting complex technical concepts to both DoD leadership and non-technical audiences
Deep knowledge of DoD cyber policy, non-traditional IT networking, and DFARS requirements
Experience managing formal taskings from senior leadership or higher headquarters
Microsoft Office proficiency
Preferred Extras
Security+, Network+, Server+
AWS Security Engineering certification
Air Force ISR operations experience
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Pay Range:Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00
