Database Administrator

The Database Administrator is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and security measures of supported databases.

-Support will include monitoring and updating malware protection software to combat potential security breaches, creating account data for authorized individuals to access databases and organizing databases so individuals can find important documents in an efficient manner.

-Builds, manages and monitors databases and database applications.

-Identifies and implements database requirements for new or existing applications by working collaboratively with other teams.

-Modifies and implements changes to database systems and information.

-Ensures database systems are storing and retrieving data as intended.

-Monitors database operation and provide support to ensure database applications and information are accessible.

-Plans and executes database upgrades and maintenance activities to ensure data security compliance within database systems.

-Creates and maintains database backup and recovery procedures.

-Works with developers to troubleshoot data-related issues.

-Executes disaster recovery plans and procedures to ensure database availability during system outages or dysfunction

-Optimizes database performance and efficiency by evaluating and recommending new database technologies.

-Supports users and developers by resolving data-related technical issues and troubleshooting queries by guiding them with best practices.

-Executes regular database maintenance tasks, including database defragmentation, backups, and database replication.

Requirements:

-Ability to receive a Secret Government Clearance

-Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of six years' relevant experience

-Oracle DBA / Data Administration experience

-Experience with SQL, MySQL, or SQL Server
