iWorld Professionals is seeking a talented and strategic Director of Information Technology to join the leadership team of a well-established company headquartered in Syracuse, NY. This full-time, onsite role offers the opportunity to lead enterprise-wide technology initiatives with a focus on application development and software systems, while supporting infrastructure, data, and internal service excellence.
This is a hands-on leadership position focused on delivering scalable, secure, and business-aligned technology solutions across operations including sales, warehousing, transportation, purchasing, and finance.
Director of Information Technology Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a growing team of IT professionals (5 direct reports) across application development, infrastructure, and support functions.
Oversee all software application systems, including Microsoft Dynamics GP (ERP), and custom solutions.
Drive custom development initiatives using C# .NET, Microsoft SQL Server, and Azure DevOps.
Manage EDI integrations and workflows with vendors and customers.
Collaborate with business leaders to align technology solutions with operational goals and priorities.
Develop and maintain a technology roadmap that supports growth, innovation, and process improvement.
Ensure software platforms are stable, well-documented, and compliant with licensing and best practices.
Oversee business intelligence and reporting tools, including Power BI, to support decision-making.
Maintain overall IT infrastructure strategy and vendor relationships (servers, networking, VPN, backups, and security), with a team to manage day-to-day operations.
Cultivate a responsive and service-oriented IT culture to support internal users and external customer needs.
Manage departmental budgeting, forecasting, and performance metrics.
Director of Information Technology Requirements:
5+ years of experience in IT leadership with a strong emphasis on software development and system integration.
Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and technology initiatives in a business-critical environment.
Technical knowledge with Microsoft technologies including SQL Server, C# .NET, Azure DevOps, and Microsoft 365.
Familiarity with Dynamics GP and warehouse management systems highly preferred.
Strong project management and vendor management skills.
Bachelor’s degree preferred (Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field).
Experience with EDI, data reporting (Power BI), and infrastructure oversight is highly beneficial.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
