Sr. RF / Microwave Engineer
Job Summary:
Our client in San Dimas, CA is looking for a Sr. RF/Microwave Engineer. This is a Direct Hire position.
Design of new ground-based and airborne microwave and millimeter-wave BUCs and transceivers.
The scope of this activity includes
Product definition: requirements, functions and features, specification, and design objective.
Configurational, Preliminary, and Detailed Design activities.
Oversight of creation of test plans and procedures
Oversight and participation in integration, test, and qualification of new products and product upgrade
Evaluate customer requirements and generate internal specifications for BUCs and transceivers.
Support business development activities through analysis of customer and market requirements and comparison against company capabilities.
Recommend the development of new capabilities in support of market and customer needs.
Support integration and test of products.
Support sustaining engineering activities.
Qualifications
B.S. in Engineering or Physics with at least 15 years’ experience in RF/microwave communications systems, component design, test and verification, or M.S. and at least 6 years’ experience.
RF/microwave circuit design and test.
Generation of RF/microwave system and “flowdown” specifications based on customer requirements.
Integration and test of complex RF/Microwave assemblies.
Knowledge of non-RF aspects of system design, e.g., thermal management, power supplies, monitor and control, at a level sufficient to make sound system-level design decisions.
Analysis and design of frequency conversion components (upconverters and downconverters).
Analysis and design of microwave/millimeter-wave Power Amplifiers.
Analysis and design of linearizers.
Facility with microwave simulation and design tools such as Microwave Office and HFSS.
Product definition: requirements, functions and features, specification, and design objectives.
Configurationally, Preliminary, and Detailed Design activities.
Oversight of creation of test plans and procedures.
Oversight and participation in integration, test, and qualification of new products and product upgrades.
Demonstrated ability to lead a technical team including non-RF technical personnel.
Familiarity with qualification standards such as DO-160, DO-178, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-188-164, and experience with qualifying products to such standards.
Familiarity with reliability analysis and methodologies such as MIL-HDBK-217 and RIAC217Plus.
Familiarity with DO-254 process and methods.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required typing skills.
Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
