Technology Deployment Change Management Lead (Contract)
Location: Houston, TX or New Orleans, LA (Hybrid with ~25% travel to LA, AR, MS, and TX)
Contract Duration: 18–24 months (with possible extension)
Employment Type: Contract (W2 or 1099 negotiable)
Overview:
A major Gulf Coast utility is undergoing a large-scale technology transformation and seeks an experienced Change Management Lead to oversee the organizational change effort tied to a Tier 1 software deployment (e.g., SAP, Oracle). This high-visibility contract role will lead a team of 2–10 seasoned change professionals and drive stakeholder engagement, training, communications, and adoption efforts across a multi-state workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end change management strategy and execution for a multi-site enterprise technology implementation
Guide a team of experienced change practitioners in delivering communications, training, stakeholder engagement, and resistance management plans
Serve as strategic advisor to program leadership and executive sponsors
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, HR, Field Ops, Supply Chain) to ensure alignment and readiness
Support hypercare and deployment phases with ongoing adoption tracking and risk mitigation
Design and implement KPIs, engagement metrics, and behavior change indicators to track and measure success
Integrate client-specified change methodologies and toolkits (e.g., ADKAR, Prosci, Kotter)
Qualifications:
12+ years of change management experience on enterprise-wide technology deployments
Proven leadership of change teams in high-stakes environments
Expertise in Tier 1 software (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Workday) implementation support
Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
Familiarity with structured change methodologies (Prosci, ADKAR, Kotter, etc.)
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning skills
Industry experience in utilities, energy, or infrastructure strongly preferred
Willingness to travel up to 25% across Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Texas
