Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliation schedules along with performing P&L variance analysis on various real estate occupancy general ledger accounts
Specific areas include, but are not limited to ASC 842 ROU Assets and Lease Liabilities, Occupancy Accruals including excess rent, contract rent, charges, and utilities, and Construction Allowance Receivables
Prepare monthly projection and seasonal budgets for occupancy expense, specifically excess rent
Work closely with third-party vendor on real estate accounting matters as well internal partners in Finance, Real Estate, and Legal
Prepare monthly and quarterly flash packets, accounting certification decks, and year-end analysis
Prepare quarterly and annual year end disclosures to support Earnings Call Materials and the annual filing of the 10-K
Execute financial and operational procedures, ensuring effective and efficient internal controls are documented and working as designed
Identify areas of opportunity/weakness and recommend solutions for achieving optimal efficiency in a controlled environment
Ability to complete, review, and present all quarter-end and year-end Tax reporting from the SAP system, as well as support other ad hoc Tax requests
Become familiar with current BBW Lease Accounting Policy and act as the lead resource for the team
Perform ad hoc analysis on a regular basis, assist in special projects, and support the development of materials for executive leadership
5-7 years Accounting and/or Finance experience
SAP-enabled process experience/skills=
Seasoned analytical, system and accounting skills (strong understanding of GAAP)
Ability to prepare all work in a timely manner with high level of attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication & presentation skills
Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills
Proven ability to multi-task and work independently; able to meet all deadlines and handle multiple objectives in a fast-paced environment
PC skill proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required
Advanced degree or CPA a plus
