Material Handler – Non-Exempt

We are looking for a person who will facilitate the execution of daily flow of production material through the production process as well as to and from external services. This includes assisting the Production Control/Expeditors with movements of material/parts to appropriate work centers as needed. Implement usage of new production cart(s) for WIP in order to reduce material handling by machine operators, eliminating risk of handling damages, and increasing utilization of space while increasing production flow within the shop floor.

Reports to: Logistic Manager

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and standard work (S.W.) when verifying raw material products in receiving and entering inventory in ERP system.

Labeling every incoming product receipt as per S.W. requirements and locating them to inventory storage areas daily as required.

Work with all departments within production operations to ensure timely delivery/launching of material to shop floor to meet production schedules.

Assist in the movement of inventory/WIP to or from any area or department as required or as requested by supervision. Pull and put-away all orders accurately and completely.

Complete all paperwork or electronic data and in a timely manner

Must follow Raw Material expectation criteria for covering, banding, and cart management, wrapping or protecting our inventory within the production process.

Communicate any inventory inconsistencies to the team lead or supervisor.

Positively interact with machine operators, line leads, and other internal customers.

Coordinates with the Supervisor and/or work leader on problems that have occurred or may occur. May make recommendations for improvement of working procedures to prevent reoccurrence of problems.

Operates a forklift and other material handling and storage equipment.

Work Environment:

Must be able to lift, push, or pull at least 35 lbs., work on feet for long periods.

Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, and move about our facility.

Requirements:

Must be a “US Person” as defined by US Government and able to work without restriction with ITAR related data.

High school diploma or GED required

1+ years experience in material handling and/or kit building

Experience in a fast paced manufacturing business preferably aerospace.

Proficient computer skills, familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with ERP a plus.

Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional level.

5-10% Domestic Travel

Ability to interpret specific work instructions, good communication.
