POSITION DESCRIPTION

Title: Graphic Design & Production Specialist

Position Type: Full-time, Exempt (40 hours)

Reports to: Director of Marketing

Job Summary

The Graphic Design & Production Specialist is a key member of the Cultural Council's Marketing team. This person is responsible for developing creative, on-brand visual assets for print as well as digital platforms and overseeing production of those assets in-house or through third-party vendors. Graphic design projects include logos, advertisements, brochures, multi-page publications such as annual reports, postcards, posters and other signage, promotional items (swag), and digital graphics for email, social media and web applications. The position also maintains the Council's asset library (photos, videos, logos, etc.) and provides support for photo and video editing as needed. The ideal candidate is organized, efficient, and a team player, with at least 3 years of professional graphic design and production experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

Design and manage production of visual assets (print and digital) from concept through delivery. Projects will support the Cultural Council's gallery exhibitions and other artist programs, member/donor relationships and special events, professional development programs, and other onsite and offsite programs. There could also be opportunities to support the Council's cultural tourism initiatives.

Manage asset production in-house or coordinate production with outside vendors by requesting quotes, managing timelines, reviewing proofs, and ensuring quality control and on-time delivery.

Maintain inventory of printed materials and promotional products; ensure branded items are appropriately displayed and available at the Council's building and visitor information center.

Organize and manage the Council's asset library, ensuring ease of access to photos, videos, logos and other visual assets and proper usage of the library by staff and partners.

Provide photo and video editing for marketing and event-related projects as needed.

Support creative requests for special events and other marketing campaigns, occasionally representing the Council in person during or after business hours.

Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field preferred, but not required.

Minimum of 3 years of professional graphic design and production experience.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).

Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Experience designing for print and digital, with knowledge of production processes and file preparation.

Demonstrated experience creating a variety of formats including multi-page print projects, postcards, signage, and logos.

Understanding of print production best practices and working with outside vendors.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and deadlines.

Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, vendors, and community partners.

Familiarity with Basecamp or other cloud-based project management tools a plus.
