REPORTS TO: Marci Komssi, Career Technical Initiative Coordinator POSITION SUMMARY: Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School is seeking a dynamic and skilled Sheet Metal Instructor to deliver high-quality instruction to adult learners as part of the Career Technical Initiative (CTI) Evening Program.
The CTI program is a state-funded workforce development initiative aimed at training unemployed or underemployed adults for high-demand careers in the skilled trades.
This 200-hour evening program is designed to prepare participants with the technical and hands-on skills necessary to pursue entry-level employment in the sheet metal industry.
The instructor will teach core content aligned with industry best practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following: Deliver engaging, hands-on instruction in sheet metal fabrication, installation, blueprint reading, workplace safety, and HVAC ductwork fundamentals.
Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Massachusetts DESE Sheet Metal Frameworks and current industry standards.
Maintain a supportive and inclusive learning environment for adult learners from diverse backgrounds.
Monitor and assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate attendance and performance records.
Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and safety protocols in the shop/lab environment.
Coordinate with program administrators to support student job placement and credentialing opportunities.
Participate in occasional program meetings, orientation sessions, and post-program evaluation.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Minimum of five years of industry experience in sheet metal work (fabrication, installation, or related areas) Massachusetts Sheet Metal Journeyman License comparable industry recognized credentials OSHA 10 certification (or willingness to obtain prior to teaching) Strong communication skills and a passion for teaching adult learners Preferred: Previous teaching or training experience in a vocational or workforce development setting DESE Chapter 74 Vocational Technical License in Sheet Metal or Construction Craft Laborer (preferred but not required) Bilingual or multilingual skills a plus Compensation: $65 per hour 275 hour position Application Process: Interested applicants should contact Marci Komssi at .
