Job Title: Database Developer

Location: Hybrid – New Jersey

Job Type: Full-time/Contract (10-11Months)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Database Developer to design, develop, and maintain robust database solutions that support our business applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in SQL development, data modeling, performance tuning, and ETL processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement efficient database objects such as tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, and triggers.

Write complex SQL queries and optimize existing queries for performance and scalability.

Design and maintain data models (logical and physical) based on application requirements.

Develop and maintain ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading across systems.

Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all stages of the data lifecycle.

Collaborate with application developers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to gather and refine requirements.

Support production databases and participate in debugging and performance tuning activities.

Document database designs, standards, and development practices.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

3–7 years of experience in database development.

Proficiency in SQL programming and at least one RDBMS (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL).

Strong understanding of normalized database design, indexing, query plans, and optimization techniques.

Experience with ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Talend, Informatica, Azure Data Factory).

Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and DevOps practices.

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database issues in development and production environments.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis) is a plus.

Knowledge of cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL, GCP Cloud SQL).

Scripting experience in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Experience with BI/reporting tools like SSRS, Power BI, or Tableau.

Certifications (Nice to Have):

Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Developer Associate

Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate

AWS Certified Database – Specialty
