Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Senior Database Administrator to join a highly capable team, driving the management, optimization, and security of enterprise-level databases. This role is perfect for an individual contributor who thrives on cross-department collaboration, diligent databased stewardship, and guiding development teams to align with data best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Database Maintenance & Optimization: Manage SQL databases, backups, patching, disaster recovery, and performance tuning while adhering to organizational standards for data security and governance.
Query Development: Write and optimize efficient T-SQL queries and ETL processes for evolving business needs.
Collaboration with Developers: Guide development teams by improving SQL code health, addressing inefficiencies, and providing advisory support on data usage and integration.
Cloud Integration: Assist in initiatives for cloud database migration and infrastructure design (Azure or AWS preferred).
Analytics Support: Contribute expertise in PowerBI to support dashboard deployment and ongoing analytics requests.
Project Leadership: Spearhead key initiatives related to data architecture, classification, and retention strategies.
Preferred Competencies:
Robust experience with Microsoft SQL Server (Enterprise Edition, SSMS), database recovery strategies, availability groups, and best practices in database design.
Strong understanding of Microsoft environments, networking, and tools such as Git, PowerShell, SAS, PostgreSQL, and PowerBI.
Strong communication and teamwork skills for multi-functional collaboration.
Hands-on expertise with cloud solutions and automation.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of enterprise database management experience, with functional knowledge of Agile development environments.
Certifications or experience with Azure or AWS cloud infrastructure and migration strategies.
Proven history of driving database optimizations to improve data performance and reliability.

Compensation: DOE $125K–$135K
