Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Lathe Programmer to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes to produce high-precision parts in accordance with technical drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate has a strong background in machining, excellent attention to detail, and proficiency in interpreting blueprints and G-code.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and optimize CNC lathe programs using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar).
Set up and operate CNC lathe machines to manufacture parts to exact specifications.
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to determine machining strategy.
Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for machining operations.
Conduct quality inspections of finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement tools.
Troubleshoot and correct issues with programs or machinery during production.
Perform machine maintenance and ensure clean and organized work area.
Collaborate with engineers and production staff to improve processes and part designs.
Maintain accurate documentation of work completed and machine settings.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certificate preferred.
Minimum 2–5 years of experience in CNC lathe programming and operation.
Proficient in G-code and CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, GibbsCAM, or similar).
Strong understanding of machining principles, materials, and tolerances.
Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and GD&T.
Solid math skills and mechanical aptitude.
Experience with ISO and quality standards preferred.
