Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced CNC Mill Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC milling machines to produce precision parts from technical drawings and specifications. This position requires strong proficiency in CAM software, a solid understanding of machining processes, and a commitment to quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, modify, and optimize CNC milling programs using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidCAM).

Set up CNC milling machines, including fixture and tool setup, part alignment, and program loading.

Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents to determine machining operations and part specifications.

Perform first article inspections and make necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy and conformance to tolerances.

Select appropriate tools, materials, and machining strategies to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.

Collaborate with engineers and machinists to improve processes, tooling, and part quality.

Troubleshoot programming or setup issues during production runs.

Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Document setups, machine offsets, tool paths, and inspection data accurately.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational training in CNC machining preferred.

2–5+ years of CNC mill programming experience in a production or job shop environment.

Proficient with G-code and CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, or equivalent).

Strong knowledge of machining practices, cutting tools, materials (e.g., aluminum, steel, plastics), and shop mathematics.

Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T.

Hands-on experience operating vertical and/or horizontal milling machines.

Familiarity with precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges).

Experience working to tight tolerances in high-quality production settings.

Preferred Skills:

4- or 5-axis milling experience a plus.

Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.

Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems for production scheduling and job tracking.

Experience in aerospace, automotive, or medical manufacturing environments.
