**Job Title: Automation Technician**

**Job Description**

The Automation Technician is responsible for managing the packaging equipment and must possess strong skills in Automation, Electrical, and Instrumentation, including proficiency with Rockwell engineering tools, electrical circuit diagnostics, instrumentation, networking, and computer hardware.

**Responsibilities**

+ Participate in and lead troubleshooting activities in the event of equipment failure, including involvement in failure analysis, problem-solving, and prevention.

+ Collaborate with the production team to make rapid, informed decisions regarding issues, and troubleshoot systems to resolve issues through investigation, analysis, testing, and follow-up.

+ Assist in the testing and upgrading of all production equipment.

+ Install and test new food manufacturing, packaging, and processing equipment.

+ Interface with machine tools and special equipment or test modules to troubleshoot existing equipment for electrical or electronics failures and modify machines to improve or update.

+ Perform maintenance and calibration of site instrumentation.

**Essential Skills**

+ Strong automation, electrical, and instrumentation skills.

+ Experience with Rockwell engineering tools.

+ Proficiency in electrical circuit diagnostics, instrumentation, networking, and computer hardware.

+ Expertise in automation, robotics, programming, PLC programming, troubleshooting, and HMI.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Journeyman Card (not required)

+ Previous food-grade experience

+ Wastewater treatment experience

**Work Environment**

The work environment is a large, fast-paced warehouse spanning over 220,000 square feet with more than 25 bay doors. It is organized with racks and a wire room section, maintaining a clean and well-kept space. The technician will work in the large pick segment, featuring floor-to-ceiling racks and wire guidance systems. Employees are expected to maintain their workspace and contribute to the overall cleanliness and organization of the facility.

**Job Type & Location**

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $38.00/hr.
