Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Azure Architect. This is a highly visible, strategic position that will play a key role in leading the design, governance, and integration of Azure cloud services across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with Microsoft 365, hybrid identity (Entra ID/on-prem AD), email architecture, and cloud governance-with a strong ability to communicate technical concepts across teams.

What You'll Do:

Design and guide enterprise-level Azure architecture with a focus on security, scalability, and integration.

Lead hybrid identity architecture leveraging Entra ID (Azure AD) and on-prem Active Directory.

Oversee and optimize mail architecture, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, email security, phishing/spam filtering, and Microsoft Defender solutions (MDI, MDO, Defender for Office 365).

Collaborate with security teams to integrate cloud and mail services into enterprise security tools.

Support governance and compliance standards for Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.

Work closely with engineering teams to define and enforce architectural standards, best practices, and cloud deployment models.

Act as a primary contact for communications with Microsoft related to cloud and mail infrastructure.

Guide the development of documentation, reference architectures, and architectural principles.

Participate in or lead strategic initiatives involving on-prem to cloud migrations and enterprise modernization.

Contribute to SharePoint architecture and its integration with data protection and compliance tools.

What Experience You'll Have:

10+ years of experience in IT architecture, with deep specialization in Microsoft Azure.

Proven experience with hybrid cloud environments, including Azure, Entra ID (Azure AD), and on-prem Active Directory.

Deep expertise in Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Defender suite.

Strong knowledge of email flow, anti-phishing/spam filtering strategies, and Microsoft Defender configuration.

Experience designing and enforcing cloud governance models and security standards.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to engage directly with engineering teams and leadership.

Experience leading or being heavily involved in on-prem to cloud migration projects.

Ability to define architectural strategies, not just implement-must be able to guide teams, not just configure tools.
