Job Title: Structural Design Engineer

Location: Greenville, SC 29607

Employment Type: 12-Month Contract to Hire

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (On-site; must be available)

Pay Rate: $61/hr

Position Overview:

Client is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join its team in Greenville, SC. This role is ideal for candidates with intermediate engineering experience who are proficient in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) project execution in a multidisciplinary environment. Candidates should be able to start within 3-4 weeks and work on-site in one of the following Client offices: Greenville (preferred), Houston, Aliso Viejo, or Aiken.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform engineering tasks of intermediate complexity under the supervision of a Discipline Lead or Area Lead Engineer

Develop and review design criteria and specifications

Conduct and verify structural engineering analyses and calculations for foundations, concrete, and steel structures

Specify materials, equipment, and systems

Collaborate across disciplines and coordinate with project management, vendors, and clients

Support procurement and subcontracting efforts (SOWs, technical bid evaluations, vendor submittals)

Provide technical input on construction-related requests for information and field changes

Ensure compliance with project quality plans, scope, schedule, and cost baselines

Prepare and analyze material quantities and forecasts

Utilize engineering analysis tools and CAD platforms effectively in a multi-discipline environment

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering

Minimum 5 years of relevant structural engineering experience

Working knowledge of federal, state, and local building codes and DOE orders

Intermediate skills in hand and computer-based structural calculations

Proficiency in STAAD, STAADPro, RISA3D, and Mathcad

Strong understanding of structural modeling and dynamic analysis

Intermediate knowledge of wind, seismic, and blast design considerations

Strong communication skills and attention to detail

Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications:

PE (Professional Engineer) license

Experience designing for nuclear facilities under ASME NQA-1 standards

Field and EPC project experience in one or more of the following sectors:

U.S. Department of Energy or other federal agencies

Nuclear facilities operating under QA programs

Manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or biotech industries

Expertise in STAADPro and Mathcad
