Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team in developing and enhancing electrical systems for fire apparatus. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to establish electrical system requirements and programming electrical controls using Vemux.
Responsibilities
Program electrical systems in Vemux for all electrical controls on the fire truck.
Develop and release electrical system components in the production system.
Create, organize, and document bills of material for electrical systems on Fire Apparatus.
Collaborate with outside suppliers on component feasibility, development, and integration.
Provide build support at various stages throughout the product development cycle.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in PLC programming.
Experience with Allen-Bradley systems.
Strong electrical engineering.
Hands-on mechanical troubleshooting and 12V electrical systems experience.
2D/3D design experience, either through classroom or internship.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
0-3 years of experience in vehicle electrical system design, integration, or testing.
Experience with electrical component development, wiring harnesses, and schematics.
Understanding of software/hardware interaction.
Proven ability to manage project deliverables.
Knowledge of general product development processes.
Self-motivated with effective time management skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work off-shift hours as needed to support production builds.
Work Environment
You will be working in a smaller shop environment with a dynamic work setting that splits time between the office and the production floor.
