JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Leader oversees the Kalas Extrusion Plant maintenance team and outside contractors, and is responsible for planning, scheduling, organizing, and assigning tasks to complete all daily maintenance activities (i.e., work order repairs, troubleshooting, equipment replacement and upgrades, machine preventative maintenance). In addition, the Maintenance Leader provides recommendations for predictive maintenance to eliminate high frequency breakdowns, end of service life repairs or upgrades, and revisions to preventative maintenance frequencies.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Functions)

Ability to plan & supervise (i.e. projects, crew, contractors).

Directs and supervises outside contractors, and vendors

Maintains critical spare inventory database, maintenance crib inventory, and maintenance asset database.

Responsible for ordering PM kitting parts, critical spares, and maintenance supplies/ tools.Maintains documentation pertaining to machine/equipment breakdowns (unplanned downtime, emergency repairs, equipment issue frequency, and asset R&M costs.

Supervises testing & troubleshooting equipment mechanical / electrical systems.

Performs predictive and preventative maintenance of equipment and machinery.

Ensures maintenance crew EHS certifications and training are current and maintenance areas and activities comply with Kalas’ EH&S policies and procedures.

Aware of the manufacturing locations significant environmental aspects and impacts and responds to mitigate or eliminate contamination to the environmental leaks, spills, and improper storage.

Meets attendance requirements as stated in associate handbook including additional overtime hours as required.

Maintains a valid PA Driver’s License.

REQUIRED: EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

High school education (or equivalent), plus vocational, career or related technical studies, related to electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatics, or other related discipline. Must have ability to use shop mathematics, interpret complicated drawings or follow detailed and complex specifications; may need to use several precision measuring instruments, operate general purpose machines, or know assembly of one or more classes of machinery.

Minimum of five years of combined maintenance education/experience in an industrial / manufacturing environment.

Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)

PREFERRED: EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Testing and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.

Experience working with advanced pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Competent in multiple welding types to perform metal fabrication and repairs

PLC troubleshooting, minor programming, upgrading and debugging PLC control systems, AC/DC drive installation and troubleshooting, control wiring troubleshooting.
