Job Overview – Development Manager (Nonprofit):

Compensation: $140,000 – $160,000/year

Location: Erie, PA

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Our client is hiring a Development Manager (Nonprofit) in Erie, PA (Hybrid), to lead fundraising and donor engagement for a mission-driven education nonprofit. You will manage fundraising through Pennsylvania’s Tax Credit Program, major gifts, grants, corporate partnerships, and planned giving. The role includes setting funding priorities with leadership, cultivating donor relationships, managing events and campaigns, and driving donor marketing and communications.

Responsibilities as the Development Manager:

Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement strategies for tax credits, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, grants, and planned giving.

Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with donors, corporate partners, foundations, and key stakeholders to drive engagement.

Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor development staff while fostering a collaborative and accountable work environment.

Community Engagement: Plan and execute fundraising events, campaigns, webinars, and represent the organization at public events to build visibility.

Communications & Marketing: Oversee donor communications, recognition efforts, and consistent brand messaging across all channels.

Performance & Database Management: Track fundraising KPIs, manage donor databases (Salesforce or similar), and provide reporting on program effectiveness.

Qualifications for the Development Manager:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, Communications, or a related field required (advanced degree preferred).

Experience: 8+ years of nonprofit development experience with a strong record of meeting fundraising goals and experience with tax credit programs and major gifts.

Technical Skills: Proficient with Salesforce or donor management software and fundraising analytics platforms.

Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership, donor cultivation, communication, and project management skills, with a passion for education and community impact.
