Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Architectural Designer or Architect to join our local design studio. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the production and development of Architectural contract drawings and documentation, utilizing AUTOCAD/REVIT/CHIEF ARCHITECT drafting software to produce working construction drawings for our projects. This position requires a strong understanding of architectural detailing and construction materials, methods and principles for construction. Candidate should also have the ability and experience to collaborate effectively with engineers and project managers.
Key Responsibilities:
Create detailed construction drawings for single-family and modular homes
Translate architectural concepts into technical drawings and 3D models
Collaborate with designers, engineers, and project managers to ensure accuracy and constructability
Prepare floor plans, elevations, sections, and details in compliance with applicable codes
Revise and update drawings based on client feedback, redlines, and regulatory requirements
Assist with submittal packages for permitting and approval
Qualifications:
3+ years of drafting experience in residential construction
Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, Chief Architect, or equivalent)
Experience with modular home design and off-site construction practices
Strong understanding of IRC, local building codes, and permitting processes
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Preferred:
Familiarity with state modular approval processes (e.g., HUD, state factory-built requirements)
Background in design-build or construction documentation
