About Us:
Solid Structures is a Spokane-based construction company specializing in pole building structures for residential, commercial, and agricultural use. We’re the creators of Permanent Post Systems—our patented bracket system designed to prevent post rot and enhance building durability. We’re also actively engineering and patenting two additional products, with another innovative invention slated for design and engineering next year.
As we grow, we’re looking for a Junior Project Engineer — a recent engineering graduate passionate about construction and eager to work toward becoming a licensed Professional Engineer (PE). This is an ideal opportunity to gain real-world experience under the guidance of our licensed engineer, with the goal of stepping into a lead role within two years.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the design and planning of pole buildings using SketchUp and other tools
Collaborate with our lead engineer, sales team, and construction crews
Participate in site visits, structural inspections, and project troubleshooting
Learn and apply structural design principles, load requirements, and building codes
Support documentation and preparation for PE licensure
Contribute to new product designs and assist with patent development
Qualifications:
Recent graduate in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field
EIT certification a plus (not required)
Strong interest in construction and hands-on engineering
Experience with SketchUp or similar 3D modeling software preferred
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Willingness to grow into a full-time engineering role with long-term commitment

Compensation & Benefits:
Starting salary: $55,000–$65,000 per year, depending on experience
