• Responsible for safety on project work and maintenance-related activities not limited to
• MPM employees but also contractors & vendors.
Job Responsibilities
• Assist maintenance instrument mechanics and production engineers in resolving
• instrumentation problems, addressing process issues, tuning control loops, and conducting
• functional ESD checks.
• Execute minor upgrade projects related to instrumentation and control loops at the site.
• Provide support for the design, installation, and commissioning of capital projects requiring
• expertise in instrumentation and controls.
• Perform configuration activities, manage alarms, and maintain operator graphics on the
• plant Distributed Control System
• Develop and optimize Routine and Predictive PMs for existing and new instrumentation and
• analytical equipment. Reviews PM results and recommends updates.
• Manage the calibration requirements of plant quality critical instrumentation (Maintenance ISO Coordinator)
• Conduct training for the Maintenance Instrument Mechanic group to enhance skill sets
• Develop and administer hands-on qualification tests for Instrument Mechanic new hires.
Team Interface
• Maintain close working interaction with the following stakeholders: Plant Leadership,
• Engineering, EHS, Production, Maintenance, Key 3rd party contractors (OEMs, consultants,
• etc.) and serve as Subject Matter Expert across the company to identify and resolve safety
• and reliability opportunities of the instrument and control system assets. Work closely with
• maintenance, operations, and engineering personnel daily.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical or Chemical Engineering with at least 3 years of
• relevant experience
• OR High School Diploma/GED with at least 10 years of experience working with process
• instrumentation and control systems.
• Proven experience with process instrumentation and control systems.
• Demonstrated strong safety consciousness and EHS awareness.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Highly motivated and results-oriented with a strong sense of ownership.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
The following are preferred for the role
• Working knowledge of SAP.
• Familiarity with ISO Standards/Requirements.
• Proficiency with ABB/Bailey Infi 90 & Emerson Delta V control systems.
• Understanding of alarm management and Safety Instrumented System (SIS) concepts.
• Basic understanding of chemical plant operations and PSM.
• Experience with Six Sigma, and LEAN is a plus.
