Job Summary
Coordinate activities related to the investigation of theft, vandalism, threats, and other security matters in the assigned region. Ensure that security measures and equipment are properly installed at all locations, and communicate security practices to applicable employees, contractors, and outside law enforcement officials. You will also be responsible for overseeing all AEP Service Corp assets, which include the company headquarters, data centers, and other assets under Service Corp.
Job Description
What You'll Do:
Recommend appropriate levels of security personnel and equipment, ensuring that the necessary security measures are in place in Company facilities.
Act as a liaison with federal, state, and local law enforcement and investigation agencies in the assigned region regarding vulnerability assessments, security needs, and related matters.
Develop and coordinate all aspects of physical security, including equipment, procedures, and methods for protecting personnel and facilities.
Direct and coordinate investigations with appropriate company personnel, contractors, and local law enforcement officials as necessary.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal employees, contractors, and local law enforcement agencies.
Coordinate and assist in the development, communication, and training on security policies, methods, and procedures as needed.
Stay informed about company, local, and national security issues, applying necessary changes in response to evolving conditions.
Manage the Site Access Program.
Assist the Director of Security with Executive Protection duties related to security plans and board activities.
Serve as a member of the Protection Intelligence Team, assisting with intelligence matters and workplace violence, and lead CARE team meetings when necessary to review threats against AEP, both internally and externally.
Manage the international travel program.
Represent the Director of Physical Security on various committees and in meetings, serving as a liaison when necessary.
Assist other Region Security Coordinators and act as a backup if approved by the Director of Physical Security.
What We're Looking For:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree
OR
Associate's Degree and three years of experience
OR
High School Diploma and ten years of experience
Experience:
A minimum of three years of experience is required in addition to the experience listed above in one of the following areas:
Sworn paid law enforcement employee at the local, state, or federal level
Active-duty military
Corporate security or a related field
Nice-to-have:
Working knowledge of investigative techniques and criminal procedures.
Experience in executive protection.
Responsible for the physical security of a large geographic area, including urban and rural facilities.
Overnight travel may be required, up to 30% of the time.
Experience in training delivery is preferred; the successful candidate will be required to deliver training through a learning management system or face-to-face instruction.
Possess (or have the ability to obtain) an Armed Security Officer Certification in accordance with FAA regulations (preferred).
