Position Overview

The Department of Management and Human Resources (MHR) within Fisher College of Business, at The Ohio State University, invites applications for positions in either Organizational Behavior (OB) or Human Resources (HR). We seek candidates who specialize in OB or HR, and applicants focusing on either area are encouraged to apply. This will be a full-time, tenure track appointment, to begin Autumn semester 2026. The salary and teaching load will be competitive with other major research institutions.

The position(s) are open rank. We plan on hiring at the assistant level, although we are also interested in associate and full level candidates.

Performance Objectives

Tenure-track faculty in MHR are expected to conduct cutting-edge research that is disseminated in premier management and disciplinary journals, teach courses firmly grounded in evidence, and provide service on behalf of the department, college, and profession.

The College

Fisher College of Business has a rich research tradition and engages through the college and the Graduate School in programs at the undergraduate, master and doctoral levels. The nationally ranked Fisher College of Business is one of 15 colleges within the university, with approximately 7,600 undergraduate and 1,000 graduate students.

Department Information

Organizations are finding that they must compete in an increasingly fast-paced, competitive, and international environment. In the Department of Management and Human Resources, the faculty are interested in exploring the ways in which organizations become competitive by understanding the dynamics of the international environment, the problems of growth, and the complexity associated with managing individuals. These interests are manifest in basic research, teaching in our various degree programs, executive education seminars, and in faculty consulting.

The faculty regularly publish in top journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, Organizational Science, Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes.

Education and Experience Requirements

Completion of a PhD in Human Resources, Organizational Behavior, Psychology, or similar field is required. Candidates should demonstrate an ability to lead research projects and publish in top-tier journals consistent with their experience.

For associate and full level-candidates, evidence of publication in top-tier outlets as well as publishing with and mentoring PhD students is also required
