Volt is immediately hiring for 1st shift CNC Vertical Mill Machinist in Poway Ca.

As a 1st shift CNC Vertical Mill Machinist you will:

Set up, program, and operate 3-axis, 5-axis, and vertical CNC machines

Perform setups using standard and custom fixtures

Read blueprints to ensure parts meet exact specifications

Monitor machines and make adjustments as needed

Complete required documentation for each job

Use precision tools (e.g., micrometers, height gauges) to inspect parts

Work with team leads to maintain part quality and address issues

Troubleshoot machine problems with support from engineering and maintenance

Communicate regularly with supervisors and coworkers

Help develop work instructions with Engineering

Maintain tools and materials to ensure smooth machine operations

Stay on schedule with setup and cycle times

Assist with maintenance and workspace cleanliness

Train others on setups and machine operations

Follow safety, quality, and organizational standardsThis is a Full-Time temporary Opportunity

The ideal candidate will have:

Requires a high school education or equivalent (GED)

10+ years experience in machine set up and operation

Experience running CNC machines to make precise metal and plastic parts from models and drawings

Strong computer and CNC software skills

Experienced with grinders, lathes, and milling machines

Experienced with vacuum setups, 4th and 5th axis machines

Makes smart decisions on machining processes, tool choices, and setup methods

Skilled at reading detailed blueprints, using measuring tools, and doing accurate math

Solves production issues with analytical thinking

Confident working with shop tools and setting up jobs

Can write basic CNC programs for simple operationS

U.S. Person for access to ITAR-Controlled Technical Data. ITAR regulations dictate that information and material pertaining to defense and military related technologies may only be shared with US Persons unless authorization from the Department of State is received or a special exemption is usedSchedule: Monday to Friday 6am-2:30pm

Pay Rate: $25-35

*Pay Rate offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
