Senior Database Administrator – PostgreSQL

Richfield, OH $55–$60/hr Temp-to-Perm

We’re seeking an experienced PostgreSQL DBA to support database operations in a fast-paced, open-source environment (primarily RHEL). This is a temp-to-perm opportunity working across PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, and other open-source systems.

Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases

Monitor performance and optimize queries

Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures

Ensure database security and integrity

Collaborate with developers on schema design, indexing, and stored procedures

Support upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning

Troubleshoot and resolve database issues

Document procedures and configurations

Requirements:

5+ years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA

Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture and tuning

Proficiency with backup/recovery strategies and query optimization

Experience in open-source/Linux environments (especially RHEL)

Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python)

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, or related field (preferred)
