Class Concept

The City of Dublin is seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our Recreation Services Team as a Front Desk Worker in the newly renovated Lounge at the Dublin Community Recreation Center (DCRC). The successful candidate is expected to contribute towards our high standards of responsiveness, cooperation and dedication to our community. Under the direction of the Adult Recreation Program Supervisor and Coordinator, Front Desk Workers are responsible for the efficient functioning of desk operations as well as promoting and supporting adult and senior programs as needed.

Scheduling/Availability

The scheduling process is very flexible and we offer a variety of shifts including days, evenings and weekends.

Schedules may be adjusted as operations needs of the new space are assessed and refined.

Currently seeking candidates available to work the following shifts:

Weekdays, 9am-2pm

Weekdays, 2-7pm

Note: This is a part-time/seasonal position that is not eligible for a comprehensive benefits package such as vacation/sick leave, health, vision, or dental insurance. Examples of Duties

Examples of duties include, but are not limited to:

Extensive computer use processing and accepting payment for activity passes and programs using Rectrac recreation management software.

Disperse adult and senior programming information in person and by answering phone calls, routing messages and answering questions appropriately.

Greet the public entering the Lounge.

Interact with customers and the public to answer inquiries and resolve issues.

Maintain a current knowledge of all Adult and Senior programs, activities and events.

Interpret and enforce City of Dublin Community Recreation Center policies, procedures and rules.

Attend meetings and trainings as required.

Actively assist in developing, managing, and maintaining the day-to-day operations of the Lounge.

Ensure the security of equipment, supplies and materials, including inventory and planning for replacement of supplies in a timely manner.

Conduct a daily check of the area and equipment for safety, cleanliness and good repair.

Clean the Lounge area, keeping it free of hazards and debris.

Anticipate and minimize potential problems with patrons or the environment and respond effectively to problems that occur.

Apply policies and procedures in responding to issues and concerns.

Effectively communicate programs or concerns to the Adult Program Team.

Set the example of Recreation Service’s Workplace Mutual Expectations: positive energy, trust your co-workers, be solution-oriented, and hold yourself and others accountable.

Abide by mandatory reporting policies as described in the staff manual.

Typical Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age or older.

At least one (1) year of previous customer service experience.

Possession of current American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.

Experience with personal computers.

Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Maintains composure under pressure, does not become defensive or irritated during stressful situations; is not knocked off balance by the unexpected.

Ability to follow oral and written directions.

Ability to work efficiently and courteously with the public and is customer focused; dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.

Must be willing to work diligently and conscientiously when dealing with work schedules and responsibilities.Preferred Qualifications

One (1) year of previous cash handling/financial balancing experience.
