About This Role:

The Sr. Network Analyst - Security and Wireless position is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and support of the campus physical security and access control system, as well as campus wireless. It provides troubleshooting and programming, responding to service requests from customers via web portal, telephone call or email request. Provides support to students, faculty, and staff in the proper use of wireless access. Assists in system planning as directed. This position works directly with the Lamar University Police Department in the maintenance of the campus physical security system. While this position specializes in physical security and wireless, it is part of the Network Services team and will assist with all campus network services operations.

What You'll Do - Position Responsibilities:

Perform daily operations activities related to network services.

Investigating faults in the network.

Support and troubleshoot campus physical security system.

Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting,

Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases.

Reporting network status to key stakeholders

Some heavy lifting required.

Job Conditions: Typical job conditions are usually indoors in a climate-controlled office or data center. Mostly sedentary involving long hours at a desk.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree required, may substitute years of experience combined with at least one relevant network related industry certification.

Minimum of 1 years' experience with infrastructure/enterprise systems and support, including but not limited to:

Routing: Static, VRRP, OSPF.

Switching: VLANs, VTP, Spanning-Tree, Virtual Chassis, LACP, WLAN.

Firewalls: Network segmentation, firewall policies, VPN.

DHCP and DNS network services.

Vendors: Juniper, Cisco, Ruckus Wireless, Dell, Fortinet, F5, Genetec.

Network Monitoring Tools: Nagios, LibreNMS, Graylog.

Security camera and access control systems and standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

3+ years' experience with infrastructure/enterprise systems and support.

Experience with network services.

3+ years' experience with security cameras and access control.

Certifications related to the duties and responsibilities specified preferred (CCNA, JNCIP-ENT, JNCIA).

Prior experience in Higher Education or K12 preferred
