Lead BA/QA

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead or Senior Business Analyst & Quality Assurance (BA/QA) Specialist with experience in Azure DevOps, SQL, and cross-functional project experience. This role will lead the analysis and quality assurance efforts on complex business and technical projects, ensuring optimal outcomes through innovative thinking, effective communication, and rigorous testing.

The ideal candidate is passionate about modernizing BA/QA practices, establishing standards, and fostering continuous improvement in project delivery and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Analysis

Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements, use cases, and process flows.

Lead the selection and application of tools and techniques (e.g., process modeling, user stories, decision tables) to suit the project context and goals.

Create and manage user stories, acceptance criteria, and traceability using Azure DevOps or similar tools.

Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and requirement review sessions.

Translate business needs into functional and non-functional specifications.

Quality Assurance

Define and execute QA strategies, plans, test cases, and scripts to ensure requirements are met with high quality.

Perform manual and/or automated testing activities for functional, integration, and user acceptance phases.

Track, analyze, and report defects using Azure DevOps or other ALM tools.

Collaborate closely with developers, business users, and QA peers to ensure timely and accurate issue resolution.

Leadership & Modernization

Act as a thought leader in modernizing BA and QA practices; promote Agile and DevOps-aligned methodologies.

Mentor junior analysts and QA testers; provide guidance on best practices and tools.

Design, implement, and maintain standardized documentation templates and processes for requirements gathering and QA.

Continuously identify and recommend improvements to analysis and testing frameworks, tools, and governance.

Qualifications:

Required:

5+ years of experience in Business Analysis and/or Quality Assurance roles.

Strong experience with Azure DevOps for work tracking, requirements management, and QA/test case management.

Proficient in SQL for data validation and analysis.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead BA/QA efforts across multiple complex projects.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and facilitation skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred:

Experience in one or more of the following domains: Corporate Services (HR, Legal, Finance, IT), Insurance, Investments.

Exposure to Agile, Scrum, and/or DevOps environments.

Familiarity with business process modeling tools or wireframing tools (e.g., Visio, Balsamiq, Lucidchart).

Experience mentoring team members and leading process improvement initiatives.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (required).

Professional certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, ISTQB, or CSPO are a plus.
