Senior Clinical Data Quality Analyst

Location: Remote (with some travel)

Clearance: Must be eligible for Tier 2 background investigation

Client: Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration (VHA)

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Clinical Data Quality Analyst to support the VHA as we propose data quality support services. This individual must bring a blend of clinical training, healthcare analytics experience, and a deep understanding of Electronic Health Records (EHR) and clinical data governance. The role supports initiatives under the VA’s Data Quality Program (DQP), including Clinical Data Quality (CDQ), Health Care Identity Management (HC IdM), and analytics support.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the review, refinement, and development of clinical data quality standards, business rules, and documentation across multiple VHA programs and technical initiatives.

Analyze data from EHRs, VA Master Person Index (MPI), and other sources to drive clinical data quality improvements and metric development.

Participate in the validation and enhancement of data related to electronic clinical quality measures (eCQM), hospital accreditation, and other compliance-focused efforts.

Engage in the review of clinical documentation integrity (CDI), including LOINC code issues, missing/incomplete entries, and erroneous data in Oracle Health queues.

Develop and support clinical dashboards, KPI tracking mechanisms, and issue remediation plans related to quality indicators.

Provide subject matter expertise for VA-level data governance and stewardship councils, ensuring that clinical data is appropriately governed, interpreted, and reported.

Contribute to testing (UAT), algorithm performance reviews, and root cause analysis for clinical quality incidents or anomalies in patient care data.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree

10+ years of experience in healthcare analytics with a strong emphasis on clinical data quality, documentation integrity, and regulatory alignment.

Proficiency with major EHR platforms (e.g., Oracle Health/Cerner, VistA/CPRS).

Familiarity with tools and technologies including SQL, Power BI, TOAD, Excel, and SSMS.

Demonstrated experience with data governance frameworks, identity management, and data stewardship in a large healthcare environment.

Understanding of hospital accreditation standards, clinical workflow documentation, and the VA/VHA data ecosystem.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting the VA, DoD, or other federal health systems.

Knowledge of SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD-10, and other clinical terminology systems.

Exposure to electronic clinical quality reporting systems and U.S. healthcare quality standards (e.g., VHA Directive 1906, 38 USC 1703C).

Experience collaborating with data scientists, engineers, and quality program leads across a distributed, matrixed environment.Company Description
