Job Description
A start-up client of ours in the Greater Sacramento, California area is looking to bring on a Junior Software Engineer willing to build up continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) best practices within a small software development team. This individual will be a key player in contributing to foundational software work to the firm, and as an early employee of the organization at-large. The position will require someone to be agile, a team player, proactive, and nice. Kindness, proactivity, and organization are key skills to bring to the table. This position will start as a 6-month temporary opportunity with possibility for extension or hire, and will expect an individual to be onsite at least 2-3 days a week in this role, with the option to be hybrid as an earned benefit.
Additional Skills and Experience:
Key skills:
• Knowledge of CI/CD best practices
• Familiarity with cloud platform AWS/GCP/Azure
• GitHub Actions or similar
• Familiarity with shell scripting (Bash/Powershell)
• Capable programmer (Python, PHP, Java, JavaScript, C++, etc)
• Terraform (or other Infrastructure as Code tool)
• Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle

What You will contribute to:
Building infrastructure across our environment to ensure the stability of Netrics and other software tooling across our organization.
• Automating test/build in GitHub Actions, and the deployment of updates to servers.
oImplementation of CI/CD from the ground up.
• Write Terraform (open to other options) configuration for our current AWS and possibly Snowflake environments.
• Making decisions around cloud architecture (AWS) to ensure application functionality while limiting unnecessary expenditure.
