Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead the design and implementation of cloud architecture for a large-scale program in Washington, District of Columbia. This role is critical in aligning cloud strategies with business objectives and IT best practices. The ideal candidate will drive cloud migration efforts, optimize infrastructure, and guide teams in adopting and managing cloud technologies. This position requires a strong understanding of enterprise systems, cloud security, and modern development methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and execution of cloud architecture strategies aligned with business goals.

Develop scalable, secure, high-performing, and cost-efficient cloud solutions using platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Maintain and evolve the organization’s cloud architecture roadmap.

Guide cloud adoption and ensure effective use of cloud resources across the enterprise.

Oversee migration of on-premises systems and workloads to the cloud with minimal disruption.

Design hybrid and multi-cloud strategies for seamless integration.

Promote Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.

Advise senior leadership and technical teams on cloud architecture and cloud-native development.

Ensure adherence to agile, DevOps, and CI/CD methodologies.

Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

7+ years of experience in cloud or enterprise architecture roles.

Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Experience with cloud-native architectures: microservices, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), serverless, CI/CD.

Strong knowledge of cloud security: IAM, encryption, network security.

Familiarity with DevOps principles and Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).

Experience in cloud cost management and optimization.

Ability to translate business needs into scalable and secure cloud solutions.

Proven leadership in guiding cloud adoption and mentoring technical teams.

Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Desirable Skills

Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

Proficiency with automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI).

Familiarity with cloud governance platforms (e.g., CloudHealth, CloudBolt).

Experience with cloud-based data lakes, big data, or AI/ML infrastructure.

Relevant certifications such as:

AWS Certified Solutions Architect

Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect

Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect
