The Accounting Manager is responsible for supporting the General Ledger accountants in preparing accounting records and administering financial processes.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to: * Gaining knowledge of sportsbetting systems and underlying calculations.
* Creating and reviewing detailed, complex spreadsheets.
* Adhering to GAAP principles, SOX compliance and internal controls.
* Preparing and reviewing reconciliations and journal entries.
* Analyzing financial transactions.
* Supervising and coaching staff and senior accountants.
* Aiding accountants with problem solving and researching discrepancies.
* Assisting Vice President of Finance with interpretation of contracts.
* Reviewing monthly, quarterly and bi-annual/annual revenue and profit shares prepared by Staff and Senior Accountants.
* Approving partner billing submissions and partner receivables.
* Ensuring communication and relationships are maintained with sportsbook partners.
* Assisting with internal and external audit requests as required.
* Supporting internal leaders with adhoc requests as required.
* Mitigating assignments to ensure departmental deadlines and goals are met.
* Prepared to assist and support their team members when required and work as a cohesive unit.
* Ensuring departmental policies, procedures and quality standards are upheld by accountants.
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS: * 2 - 5 years of related supervisory experience * Degree in Accounting or related field * Able to obtain a gaming licenses as necessary * Able to work a flexible schedule: evenings and weekends when needed * Knowledge of GAAP principles, SOX compliance and internal controls * Proven ability to lead and assist staff accountants * Working knowledge of preparing and reviewing reconciliations and journal entries * Diligent to detail and accuracy * STRONG Excel skills * Working knowledge of Oracle accounting software a plus * Able to adapt to changes * Ability to work collaboratively and well with others * Capable of meeting deadlines under pressure and time constraints
