Job Description

The Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and maintaining strong internal controls. This role leads the monthly close process, manages compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements, and helps drive process improvements across accounting functions. The Controller will serve as a key business partner to the CFO providing financial insights to help guide the company’s growth and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Champion and uphold the company’s values, vision, mission, and quality policy in all activities.

Adhere to and help enforce company policies, procedures, and internal control standards.

Oversee the accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements for entities engaged in manufacturing and distribution operations.

Lead and manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules.

Assist with variance analysis by providing insights on monthly financial statements.

Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP.

Partner with external auditors to coordinate and support annual audits and reviews, ensuring all necessary documentation is provided.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state regulations, tax laws, and changes in accounting standards to ensure ongoing compliance.

Support the preparation of financial information for external accountants for annual tax return filings.

Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and controls for greater efficiency and accuracy.

Assist and mentor the AR/AP team as needed to ensure timely and accurate processing and resolution of issues.

Ensure the integrity and consistency of financial data across systems and reports.

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned to support the company’s financial objectives.

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required; Master’s degree is a plus.

· Five years or more of related experience required in a manufacturing environment.

· CPA designation is a plus.

Skills Required

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial information.

Advanced accounting and mathematical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Strong team player with the ability to foster a collaborative, supportive environment.

Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced expertise in Excel (including pivot tables, database functions, and complex formulas).

Experience with at least two ERP systems; ability to quickly adapt to new platforms and tools.

Familiarity with business intelligence or reporting software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar) is a plus.

In-depth understanding of standard and actual cost accounting methodologies within manufacturing environments.

Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time salaried position, typically Monday through Friday. While weekend work is rare, occasional weekend availability may be required based on business needs.
