Exhibits the highest level of proficiency and expert knowledge of a specialized technical area that enables the individual to serve as the

expert and highest-level resource for the company. Leads project and development activity related to specific, unique, and/or highly

specialized areas to support the AEP generating fleet. Acts as the primary resource to perform highly advanced work activities and projects

requiring the application of technical knowledge in a safe, effective, efficient, and economic manner. Is the key resource in their field of

expertise to assist site personnel with any issues

Job Description

WHAT YOU’LL DO

More Specific to This Opportunity:

- Coordinate the overall engineering activities among AEP, EPC Contractor, and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) for Generation capital and O&M projects.

- Provide regular engineering progress updates to the project team and stakeholders.

- Experience overseeing multi-discipline engineering work is preferred.

Substation and Balance of Plant Engineering analysis

- Renewable NERC Compliance Coordination with Operations

- Reviews Technical Information Letters (TILs) and approve their integration into fleet assets

- Reviews M&D data and performance issues and recommends actions to each site

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Exhibits the highest level of proficiency and expert knowledge and leadership in a technical area that enables them to serve as the expert to support the Generation Organization.

- Develops and maintains the processes and programs.

- Leads the administration and implementation of processes and programs across the fleet.

Leads AEP system-wide activities in specific areas of expertise. Leads project and development activity related to specific, unique, and/or highly specialized technical knowledge. Influences the direction of thinking throughout the AEP system as a recognized authority in of the specialized programs/ systems/ equipment within the plant.

Identifies, resolves, and initiates solutions to highly complex problems that are unique to the company and industry and requires extensive specialized knowledge of equipment and/or problem-solving techniques, or the development of knowledge and techniques.

- Develops the methodology to maintain program/ system/ equipment records and documents plans and procedures.

- Develops the methodology to electronically archive records for historical purposes/evidence.

- Determines methods for providing historical information or specific details about future enhancements.

- Develops, implements, and improves tools to automate managing and reporting functions where possible.

Leads in the preparation and collaborates with others to present solutions to the most complex technical subjects, clearly, concisely, and persuasively, bringing in ancillary issues before senior management, professional organizations, regulatory bodies, etc. in alignment with Generation’s requirements.

- Provides direction for Plant Staff, Plant Management, and others to facilitate a successful fleet program for the specialized program/system/equipment at each applicable site.

- Advises and collaborates program development across applicable sites to assure each local program fits in with the overall fleet program and to recognize common platforms and promote consistency and continuous improvement within the Generation Organization.

Builds teams and networks that extend through AEP, and other companies, professional organizations, regulatory agencies, and academia.

- Serves as a technical mentor for less experienced technical resources within their field of expertise.

- Defines, leads, and/or provides, as needed, required and appropriate specialized training of employees with a thorough understanding of any training elements that are necessary.

Leads the planning and implementation of projects associated with any new program requirements or systems/equipment upgrades or repairs.

Leads, facilitates, and coordinates work activities of others within the work group, team, department, corporate entity, or those external to the company and assumes the role of project or function manager for assigned tasks. Influences the direction of thinking throughout the organizational unit as a recognized authority in an area of expertise.

Makes decisions that are likely to impact the AEP system, business objectives and strategic direction. Possesses the knowledge and experience to make and take full accountabilities for all technical decisions. Demonstrates the ability to make their area of expertise a strategic asset of the AEP system.

Assures safety of all activities.

Tulsa, OK

Oklahoma City, OK

Education: Bachelor’s degree in applicable technical field or associate’s degree with relevant work experience.

Work Experience: In addition to any experience required above, 12 years of direct experience and advanced level of proficiency, knowledge, and leadership of the specialized programs/ systems/ equipment is typically required for this particular role.

Licenses/Certifications: Professional registration or certification in a related engineering, project, or technology field is preferred for this position.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Physical demand level varies depending on specific job duties/requirements.

WHAT YOU’LL GET

Base Salary: $133,000 - $172,000

Compensation Range:

$112,869.00-146,730.50 USD
