Founded in 1953, Aerosonic has grown to be a leader in aviation instrumentation and avionics equipment. This includes air data systems, standby displays, digital and mechanical standby instruments, sensors and probes. Our customers include the major manufacturers of today's civil, military and business fixed wing and rotocraft platforms, as well as, all branches of the US military forces. We are currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support our Engineering Team. This position is located in our Clearwater, FL facility and is onsite, not hybrid or remote.
Job Summary
Working relationship with the Business Unit Manager and acts as PE for the avionics system, software and hardware requirements and verification through development and qualification testing.
Conceptualize, analyze, design, develop and integrate air data systems with beginning to end ownership of product.
Dynamic response modeling of avionics devices including external to aircraft air data sensors.
Support the hardware/software design groups, verification and validation stream while sustaining engineering of existing products.
Education/Previous Experience
Bachelor of Science, Engineering or Mathmatics (STEM) and a minimum of seven years experience in aerospace new product development
Proven leadership of teams for new business pursuits and proposals
Must possess ability to work in and around an Engineering environment in a safe manner
Experience with MIL-STD-810, 461, and Do Verification and Validation activities
Experience in electronic hardware/firmware design, modern configuration management and problem reporting
Excellent communication skills - written, oral, reporting and presentation with customer briefings
Work Environment
