What you’ll be doing:
Execute day-to-day purchasing activities for raw materials, packaging, and indirect materials
Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts for vendor planning and coordination
Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure improved payment terms, delivery schedules, and supply chain conditions
Conduct annual Request for Proposal (RFP) processes for key material categories to ensure competitive pricing
Drive cost reduction initiatives across all material categories, with particular focus on direct materials cost optimization
Source and evaluate suppliers for new product launches, specialty chemicals, and emerging material needs
Maintain vendor relationships and performance scorecards to ensure quality and delivery standards while maintaining stable and cost-effective operations
Plan and execute regular cycle counting programs to maintain inventory accuracy
Coordinate and oversee physical inventory counts, ensuring minimal business disruption
Lead implementation and optimization of warehouse management systems (WMS)
Analyze inventory levels and turnover rates to identify slow-moving or obsolete stock
Collaborate with production planning and sales teams to optimize inventory levels and reduce carrying costs
Maintain accurate inventory records and investigate discrepancies
Support gross profit improvement initiatives through strategic sourcing and cost reduction programs
Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to identify opportunities for supply chain optimization
Provide regular reporting on purchasing performance, cost savings, and inventory metrics
Collaborate cross-functionally with quality, operations, and finance teams
Who we’re looking for:
0-5 years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, or inventory management, preferably in CPG manufacturing
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and ERP systems
Experience with RFP processes and vendor negotiations
Knowledge of inventory management principles and warehouse operations
Excellent communication and relationship management skills
Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, or related field
APICS or similar supply chain certification
Experience with warehouse management systems implementation
Background in chemical or ingredient sourcing
Familiarity with FDA regulations and quality standards in manufacturing
Experience in cost reduction and process improvement initiatives
