Youth & Community Learning Program AssistantnSUMMARY:nUnder the supervision of the Director of Youth & Community Learning, Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD) seeks to hire a Youth & Community Learning Grant Funded Program Assistant.

As this position is grant funded, it will begin in mid-August 2025 and end in August 2026.

This role is non-exempt with an hourly pay rate of $21.15 - $22.11nPrograms supported by this role include: nnFall Saturday Art Classes (1st -12th grade and Adults)nFall Night Classes for AdultsnCentral Ohio Scholastics Art CompetitionnSpring Saturday Art Classes (1st -12th grade and Adults)nSpring Night Classes for AdultsnArt Educator Professional Development WorkshopsnCreative Summer Workshops (1st -12th grade and Adults)nCollege Preview (a three-week residential, credit-bearing experience for high school students).nnnThis role is best fit for an individual seeking professional experience in Visual or Performing Arts, Arts Education, K-12 Education, Community Programming, or Higher Education Administration.

It is a position requiring someone who can manage a fast pace, can work independently with little supervision, is a critical thinker, and has the ability to multitask.

This role is crucial to keep our procedures and processes running smoothly.

We are excited to have a team member who identifies as creative, self-motivated, and detail-oriented and would bring those skills to coordinating, implementing, and assessing our exceptional youth and community art enrichment programming.nnThey must have the ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, and educational levels by using a variety of interpersonal strategies to interact appropriately and effectively.nnThis role will be required to work some nights and weekends while programming is actively in session.nnESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes but are not limited to the following:nnSupport both the Director of Youth & Community Learning and Youth & Community Learning Program CoordinatornAssist with creation and maintenance of programming schedules, enrollment systems, and recordsnAssist with the building and implementation of assessment and reporting systems for Youth & Community Learning programsnAssist with the review of syllabi, supply requests, lesson planning, and accommodation requests on a term by term basisnMay serve as a point-of-contact for guardians of students enrolled in these programs though in-person interactions or tools like email and phonenAssist with departmental supply purchasing, organization, inventory, and distributionnServe as the main point-of-contact for the night classes for adults and art educator professional development series.nThis role will also play a large part in executing the regional Scholastics art adjudication and exhibition planningnAssist with communication with Youth & Community Learning instructors in-person and through tools like email, phone, and Discord.nPopulate the social media accounts for Youth & Community Learning, with an emphasis on documenting programs as they unfoldnAssist with preparation and installation of end-of-term gallery exhibitions as needednAssist with the supervision of off-campus College Preview field trips (transportation provided)nCreate and implement fun, engaging activities for College Preview attendees to enjoy during non-class hoursnMay be asked to lead certain workshops or substitute for courses as necessary and ablenDevelop and foster relationships with local and statewide K-12 art educatorsnAttend various fairs, conferences, and community events hosted by local school districts, the city of Columbus, OAEA, and morenAttend, schedule, and lead meetings where appropriate nOther duties as assigned nnnSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:nNone.nnQUALIFICATIONS:nMust be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed above.

Additional qualifications include:nnExcellent interpersonal communication and human relations skills (written and verbal)nTime management skillsnAbility to set priorities that accurately reflect relative importance of duties nAbility to work independently within a team in a fast-paced office environmentnAbility to be proactive, creative, and have a problem solving approachnCollaborative, entrepreneurial, and proactive working stylenExcellent organizational and project management skills nDetail oriented and deadline driven work ethicnAbility to work on multiple projects simultaneously within time constraints nMust be flexible and able to work unconventional hours, including evenings and weekendsnComputer literacy with Google SuitenAdobe Suite experience preferred but not requirednVisual arts experience or degree preferrednnEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE nnAssociates or Bachelors degree required (Visual or Performing Arts, Arts Education, K-12 Education, or Higher Education Administration preferred)nExperience in K-12 education administration, youth arts administration, or camp supervision preferred.nExperience with event programming leadership, development and implementation, or related planning experience preferred.nnPHYSICAL DEMANDS:nnThe employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear.n The employee frequently is required to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.nThe employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

nThe employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
