This position will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining ProtoTrak lathes and milling machines to produce precision parts according to technical drawings and quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of machining principles, proficiency in interpreting blueprints, and the ability to work independently to achieve production goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Produce precision quality parts machining various materials to engineering specifications (SS304, 316L, aluminum, and various plastics, etc.).

Ability to read and interpret prints.

Review Production Status Report and complete orders as needed.

Perform your setups.

Follow the checklist: shop employee pre-inspection before work step

Punch job in ERP system

Verify final dimensions with print, by using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, fixtures, and gauges.

Perform repair and preventative maintenance on shop equipment.

Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies.

Promote customer focusQualifications

Skills:

Familiar with the metric system

Familiarity with G & M codes or ProtoTrak controls is a plus

Ability to read prints and use measuring tools

Experience in turning lathe is a plus

Competencies:

Quick learner to become proficient at editing programs and controls

Work independently

Highly dependable with an excellent attendance record is required

Requirements:

3 to 5 years of experience

Must be a US citizen or a permanent resident

Relocation assistance is not available for this position

Education:

High School Graduate or GED. Preferably from a vocational-technical high school, the completion of an apprenticeship program, or a community college/technical school training program.

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate in the manufacturing shop environment.

Additional Information

Position Type: This is a full-time (non-exempt/hourly) position. Compensation will be based on experience. Non-exempt employees will receive overtime pay at 1.5 times the calculated hourly rate for time worked in excess of 40 hours per week.

Hours: First Shift, M-F, 7:00 am - 12:00 pm and 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm – Overtime is possible
