A K-12 educational setting in the Aurora, IL area is seeking a qualified Sign Language Interpreter to provide essential munication support for students. This contract role runs from August 4, 2025, through June 6, 2026, with a weekly schedule of 32.5 to 35 hours, aligned with the school calendar. The position requires in-person attendance to effectively assist students in their learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate clear munication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their educators through proficient sign language interpretation.
Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support students educational needs.
Manage caseload responsibilities effectively to ensure consistent service delivery.
Qualifications:
Must hold ISBE Approval as a Sign Language Interpreter; candidates with an EIPA rating of 3.0 or higher may qualify for temporary approval.
Demonstrated experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in K-12 settings.
Strong munication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse student populations.
Ability to work onsite at designated schools within Aurora and surrounding areas, including Burlington, IL.
