Minimum 1+ years intrepreter experience required.

Seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support K-12 students in a school setting near Rockford, IL, including surrounding areas such as Plano, IL. This contract position runs from August 4, 2025, through June 6, 2026, offering 32.5 to 35 hours per week based on the school schedule. This is an in-person role essential for facilitating effective munication for students who use sign language.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality sign language interpreting services to students in a K-12 educational environment.

Facilitate munication between Deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and staff.

Collaborate with educators to ensure accessible learning experiences.

Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in pliance with educational standards.

Qualifications:

ISBE Approval as a Sign Language Interpreter is required.

Candidates with an EIPA score of 3.0 or higher may qualify for temporary approval.

Strong knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting techniques.

Previous experience working in a K-12 educational setting preferred.

Ability to work onsite and maintain a consistent schedule aligned with school hours.
