We are seeking a skilled and results-driven Process Engineer with specialized experience in Powder Handling Systems Design to support complex manufacturing and processing operations in Phoenix, AZ. This role involves designing, optimizing, and implementing powder handling solutions that ensure consistent flow, quality, and safety across production lines.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement powder handling systems including material transfer, storage, dosing, conveying, and mixing.

Develop process flow diagrams, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and layout designs.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, manufacturing, packaging, controls) to support process scale-up and technology transfer.

Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for issues related to powder flow, segregation, caking, and environmental control (e.g., dust containment).

Support equipment selection and vendor evaluation for conveyors, hoppers, feeders, and dust collection systems.

Conduct process validation, trials, and risk assessments (e.g., FMEA, HACCP) to ensure safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Prepare and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and engineering reports.

Drive continuous improvement projects focused on yield, throughput, and quality in powder handling processes.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

3–7 years of hands-on experience in powder handling system design or process engineering in a manufacturing environment.

Solid understanding of powder flow mechanics, bulk solids handling principles, and material compatibility.

Proficiency in engineering tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD platforms.

Experience with pneumatic conveying, screw feeders, rotary valves, and dust control systems.

Knowledge of cGMP, safety regulations, and engineering best practices.

Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in consumer goods, food, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing environments.

Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

Exposure to automation and process control systems is a plus.
