Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and manage F5 Distributed Cloud WAF to protect enterprise and external-facing web applications

Administer and maintain Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including policy management, rulebase audits, and Panorama configurations

Develop and maintain Python automation scripts for firewall operations, configuration validation, and reporting workflows

Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and security teams to safeguard network perimeters and ensure secure data flows across hybrid environments

Support incident response activities by analyzing firewall and WAF telemetry and deploying mitigation controls

Contribute to security architecture reviews and assist in the design of secure, scalable solutions aligned with zero-trust models

Document firewall standards, WAF policies, and automation tools to support operational consistency and knowledge sharing

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or related engineering roles

Hands-on expertise with F5 Distributed Cloud WAF, including WAF policy configuration, bot mitigation, and API protection

Advanced knowledge of Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including centralized management with Panorama and in-depth policy tuning

Proficiency in Python scripting for automation, log processing, and API integrations

Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S), SSL decryption, and traffic inspection techniques

Experience integrating with log aggregation and SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Cortex Data Lake)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including documentation

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), especially in securing workloads and services

Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar

Understanding of DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipeline security

Relevant certifications such as PCNSE, F5 Certified Administrator, GSEC, or equivalent

Business Impact:

This contractor position is essential to advancing our cybersecurity posture through automated security operations, resilient perimeter defenses, and secure application delivery in the cloud. Your expertise will directly support critical enterprise initiatives aimed at reducing risk and improving response capabilities in an evolving threat landscape.
