Concrete Quality Control Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct field and lab testing of concrete and aggregates following ASTM, AASHTO, WISDOT, MDOT, and project-specific standards

Read and interpret project specifications and testing procedures

Support preconstruction efforts, including mix submittals, coordination, and scheduling

Verify concrete mix designs and recommend adjustments as needed

Maintain accurate documentation and timely reporting of test results

Calibrate and maintain testing equipment and instruments

Stay informed on industry standards, certifications, and new testing technologies

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Materials Science, or related field

Experience: 3+ years in concrete materials testing or quality control

Certifications (Required):

ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I

Aggregate Technician Certification (WISDOT HTCP or equivalent)

Nuclear Density Gauge Certification (if applicable)

Strong understanding of concrete mix design and quality control

Proficient in ASTM and AASHTO testing methods

Excellent organizational, math, and communication skills

Comfortable using mobile devices and tablets for data entry and reporting

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Willing to travel locally and work overtime as needed
